Nuestra Brújula de Liderazgo

2020 realmente nos ha dejado en un lugar desconocido, dejándonos para buscar nuestra brújula personal. Tenemos demandas que vienen de todas las direcciones como padre, cónyuge, compañero de trabajo, líder y contribuyente de la comunidad. Más que nunca, una decisión puede tener un efecto dominó en muchos niveles. La presión para tomar la decisión correcta es fundamental. La consideración por nuestra salud y bienestar es sin duda lo más importante. La fatiga mental de Covid19 junto con nuestro deseo de volver a la normalidad a veces parecen estar en desacuerdo. Sin embargo, todos los días, todavía estamos en el asiento del conductor y optamos por seguir adelante. ¿Cómo cumplimos estas expectativas con éxito?
Encuentra nuestra brújula
Hay un extraño fenómeno que ocurre cuando regresamos a un lugar de reconocimiento. La familiaridad restaura nuestra fe en nuestro propósito y la razón para aventurarnos cada día. Una sensación cálida como recordar cuando hablamos con un amigo respetado que confirmó que estábamos tomando la mejor decisión calculada que podíamos tomar.
Nuestra brújula representa nuestra capacidad para volver a los fundamentos que tanto apreciamos. Nos recuerda que nuestros valores personales y profesionales nos guiarán hacia estas aguas desconocidas. No importa cuán desalentadores sean los mares de lo desconocido, miramos con confianza a un instrumento que conduce en la mejor dirección, sin importar lo que veamos. Los principios probados en el tiempo son la base para decisiones acertadas. Algunos se refieren a nuestra brújula interna como nuestro "Norte verdadero". Cualquiera que sea su elección de familiaridad, es hora de basarse en lo que sabemos que es la base correcta.
¿Cómo nos reconectamos con nuestra brújula?
(1) Siempre comienza con un reflejo silencioso de uno mismo.
¿Estoy mostrando el comportamiento en mis palabras y acciones que están alineadas con mis valores? ¿Llena su mente de iluminación constructiva pero positiva? ¿Cómo alimenta su mente y sus pensamientos?
(2) Como un líder de confianza, ¿puede brindar ánimo o desesperación?
Podemos optar por apuntar hacia soluciones con valores duradero o ser cínicos con una mentalidad de “sobreviviente del más apto”.
(3) ¿Eres un campeón de la resiliencia?
Al igual que un entrenador de fútbol que reúne al equipo con un puntaje que los pone a un touchdown por detrás, nuestro equipo depende de nosotros para llamar a esas jugadas críticas. ¿Sigues siendo intencional con tus conversaciones para mencionar las posibilidades de "Se puede hacer"?
Los tiempos difíciles son cuando vemos lo mejor y lo peor de todos. Como líderes, tenemos la tarea de superar la mentalidad de “lo suficientemente bueno” para alcanzar lo imposible.
Tómese su tiempo esta semana
- Comprométase a cerrar todo durante 20 minutos.
- Escriba tres valores que elija vivir y guiar en todas sus acciones.
- Realice una actividad motivadora; podcast, seminario web, video: algo que le guste hacer.
Cuando la gente está alejándonos de nosotros todo el tiempo, debemos tomarnos un tiempo para nosotros mismos. Encuentre una brújula o algo que le recuerde lo que representa durante los tiempos difíciles. Hará toda la diferencia en su mundo y en aquellos a quienes impacta.
